Su Wei-chen is the author of more than a dozen volumes of fiction and nonfiction, including Faded Youth (1981), Old Love (1985), The Magic Hours (2002), Secondhand Bookstore Owner’s Daughter (2010) and, most recently, Revolving Door (2016). Her novel Island of Silence (1994) was translated into English by Jeremy Tiang in 2013. In addition, she has published two academic volumes on Eileen Chang. She has served as the associate director of the literary column of United Daily News, and is currently a professor of Chinese literature at National Cheng Kung University in Tainan. Professor Su is the recipient of the United Daily News Prize for the Novelette, and the China Times Million Dollar Literary Prize for the Novel.
